Cantina was born out of our love of South America – Miles and Koosha met each other there during a year abroad studying in 2010. Asados (Spanish for barbecues) are a way of life there and it was the food - namely the chimichurri - that laid the foundations of our friendship, and ultimately our business. In local slang Cantina means ‘bar and grill’ - it's our way of reminding ourselves that even the simplest of meals should feel like an occasion. And we want everyone to experience that feeling.
What is Chimichurri
Chimichurri can be found in every fridge and on every barbecue in South America slathered on giant steaks and juicy hot dogs.
It's not just another hot sauce - it's a herby and zesty blend of quality olive oil, vinegar, herbs and spices. It can be used as a sauce or a marinade and complements practically every dish!
Served in steak restaurants, boutique sandwich shops and used as a marinade in artisan butchers, chimichurri is still little known in the UK. We want to bring the sauce that set our friendship alight into the British mainstream. We’ll get there, one table at a time...
